You’ve probably felt it too, right? This weird pressure that taking care of ourselves somehow makes us less’ manly.’

Well, let’s squash that bug right now because self-care is not just about face masks and bubble baths (although, those are great too!); it’s about taking care of our minds, bodies, and souls. So, why the heck is it so hard for us blokes to get on board?

It’s sometimes so hard for our society that have this old-fashioned idea that men need to be tough, stoic, and basically emotionless robots.

Ever heard the phrase “Man up!”? Yeah, that’s part of the problem. This kind of thinking leads us to believe that if we show any signs of vulnerability, like admitting we need help or taking time for self-care, we’re somehow less masculine. Physical Exercise: We hear about it, read about it, and see it all the time, don’t we? But seriously, it’s so good for us. And remember, drinking plenty of water is super important too. 

Adequate Sleep: With all of the recent studies, it can’t be stressed enough how important sleep really is. It’s when our bodies recharge and repair themselves. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. And hey, if you need a nap, take a nap! There’s no shame in it. In fact, short naps can actually be really refreshing and boost your productivity. Just try not to nap too close to bedtime; it can make it harder to fall asleep at night. And remember, a good sleep routine is key. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even on weekends. Your body will get into a rhythm, and it’ll be easier to fall asleep and wake up.
