Dell XPS 15 – The Laptop Everyone Desires

Dell has recently announced the launch of it’s Latest XPS 15 line up with huge updates. Under the hood it packs Intel’s  i7  Six-core CPUs and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with  4GB GDDR5 ♥. So, you can pretty much easily game on it.

Dell is pushing innovation to the edge with this laptop.

It is the world’s smallest 38.1cm (15) laptop packs powerhouse performance with a stunning InfinityEdge display. Measuring in at a slim 11-17mm and 4 pounds (1.8 kg) with a solid state drive, the XPS 15 is the world’s lightest 38.1cm (15) performance-class laptop.

The XPS 15 is the only laptop with 100% Adobe RGB color, covering a wider color gamut and producing shades of color outside conventional panels so you can see more of what you see in real life. And with over 1 billion colors, images appear smoother and color gradients are amazingly lifelike with more depth and dimension. Included is Dell PremierColor software, which automatically remaps content not already in Adobe RGB format for onscreen colors that appear amazingly accurate and true to life. With 350 nit brightness, it’s brighter than a typical laptop.

It Supports up to 16GB  of memory with a bandwidth of 2400MHz, 1.3 times the speed of 1600MHz options. Faster memory means you get to the content that you need quicker. Storage up to 512GB  solid state drive (SSDs), available in faster PCIe versions, provide plenty of storage room and high-performance responsiveness to access and run your applications quickly. The XPS 15 boots and resumes in seconds with a solid state drive, so you can do more without waiting.

Design

Ports

The new XPS 15 includes oneHDMI, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps)​, an SD card reader, a headset jack, a Noble lock, and a Thunderbolt 3 port with 2 lanes of PCI Express Gen 3.

Camera

I am not a fan of the weird webcam placement of the camera on this laptop. Xps 15 bosts a Widescreen HD (720p) webcam with dual array digital microphones

Battery Life

Like with the existing XPS 15 models, you get a 56WHr battery in the low-end, but a 97WHr battery comes standard on the higher-end models. Dell claims you can get up to 21.5 hours of battery on one of these laptops, which is not bad for a 15-inch laptop with a 4K screen.
