A Canadian women who helped to smuggle 95 Kg of cocaine onto a cruise ship has been jailed. She allegedly posted the pics of her smuggling on Instagram To become the ‘envy of others’.
She was sentenced to 8 years in jail for smuggling drugs into Sydney in 2016.
“She was seduced by lifestyle and the opportunity to post glamorous Instagram photos from around the world,” Judge Traill said, according to CBS News.
“She wanted to be the envy of others. I doubt she is now.”
Roberge’s role was to “look pretty” while the drugs were sold below deck.
Her accomplice Isabelle Lagace, 29, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison last November.
She realized, she told the court, that she had put everything on the line for some selfies “in exotic locations and post them on Instagram to receive ‘likes’ and attention.”
